The Creation of Paws & Wings
Paws and Wings was created by Robyn Elich in 2003, originally named Robyn's Pet Sitting Services.
While working full-time with animals at a local veterinary hospital, Robyn decided to create a small side business, going into people's homes when they were away, to take care of their dogs and cats.
Starting off slowly, advertising in local grocery store bulletin boards, she managed to get her first cat sitting gigs under her belt. Eventually the side-business grew, until she had a good-sized, yet manageable list of regular clients of which she came in to walk their dogs while they were out of town, care for their cats, and even a few parrots, and rodents! The veterinary clinic she worked at even helped advertise her services to their clients. After the first year in business, most of her new pet sitting jobs came from word of mouth, and some well-known pet store chains.
In 2009, Robyn got married, and unfortunately had to leave the town of Oakville, Ontario where Paws and Wings originated. Living in Brampton Ontario for 11 years, we added bird grooming to our list of services, thanks to Robyn's new husband Steve's advanced knowledge in avian care.
In 2021, they once again moved. This time to Georgetown Ontario. Robyn now works for a specialty medical clinic, rather than Veterinary medicine, but keeps all her knowledge from over 20 years in pet care.
